Hello from The Gillingham's...

Hello friends and family and welcome to our blog!! This blog was created to chronicle the many, many activities of our beautiful family. Please note that this blog was created by Bill and we all know about his limitations with computers, so we apologize in advance!

Currently (as of Nov. '08) we reside in Veradale Washington. Our family is comprised of Bill (age 38), Carol (age 38), Dorian (oldest son - age 9), Mercedes - "Ce'de" pronounced "Sadie" (daughter - age 6), Mason (youngest son - age 4), and Boo-Radley (French Bulldog - age 1). We are very blessed! The year before last, we purchased a travel trailer and we are all camping junkies. If you're trying to get a hold of us on the weekends from about May to August, good luck!!

Bill is currently a mortgage loan officer for Horizon NW Home Mortgage in Spokane. He's been doing mortgages for over 5 years now. Yeah, its tough right now but it sure beats working 12 hours a day a Appleway! **Insert shameless plug here...Give him a call if you need a mortgage!!

Carol is amazing!! She is a full time mother for sure, and she's very involved with the kids schools, sports, activities, and dance classes. In her spare time she still manages to be a very successful realtor with Windemere in Liberty Lake. **Insert shameless plug here...Nah, just kidding!! Last year Carol received an award from the Spokane Association of Realtors and became a member of the multi million dollar club! She also manages to stay involved with the Children's Hospital (where Ce'de had her surgery) and do hair and nails out of our home. I have no idea where she finds the time or strength?!?! In addition to all of the above, Carol's mom Patsy was diagnosed with breast cancer this year and Carol has been an angel on her mother's shoulder. So far so good and we pray for her recovery.

Dorian is our athlete in the family. This year he played baseball and soccer. Soccer is his favorite and he almost always plays as a forward. His coach say's he's one of the team's best scorers and boy does that make his dad proud. Dorian is also a world class fisherman. He will sit at the end of gramma's dock and fish from sun up to sun down if you let him. When he's not on the dock, you can find him inside watching fishing on tv. This year's fishing highlights included him catching a barracuda in Cancun and Several King Salmon on the Columbia River. We're very proud of Dorian and he's 9 going on 19!!

Ce'de is the most beautiful little six year old you've ever seen. This year she started Kindergarten and boy does she like school. She has also been involved in dance class for the last few years and is an amazing ballerina! She looks so cute in her ballerina dress that the dance school asked our permission to use her in their advertisement. Dad's already cleaning his shot gun and getting it all ready. Look out boys!! At home, one of Ce'de's favorite pastimes is writing books. She will staple together several pages, adorn them with her fantastic drawings, and then ask mom or dad to grab a pen and write down her exact words for each page. Her stories are better than most of the books that we buy for her, so we're hoping that she'll be picked up by a publishing company sometime soon.

Mason is also an aspiring soccer star. This year his team decided to have their names put on the backs of their soccer shirts. Mason's shirt says "Mason Big-Boy" because his name is "Mason Big-Boy." Just ask him. Mason's achievements this year include completing one full year without a seizure!! (Yeah!! Mace-Face. Mom and dad are very, very happy about that) and attending day care. He is also a video game freek. I guarantee you've never seen a 4 year old rock a Nintendo DS like this kid. Since Mason is our last "no school" kid, he also deserves a lot of credit for helping his mom and gramma with all of their projects. Like most kids, his favorite hobbies include what ever his brother and sister are doing but, he will go camping with you at the drop of a hat!!!

Boo-Radley is our French Bull Dog from Arkansas. We bought him on line last October and our kids are absolutely crazy about him. "Boo" as we refer to him, thinks that he's a human being and that Carol is his mother. He follows her around from room to room like they're tied together.
He's a very mellow dog and great with the kids. His hobbies include sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, farting, snoring, and sleeping.
